psychotherapy for integrative health

hello & welcome

I am a doctoral-level psychotherapist providing mental health services in North Carolina and Utah. I assist adults of all ages and specialize in therapy for chronic pain and illness, complex trauma and PTSD, and anxiety.

I use a systems-based framework to understand what you bring to therapy. This means learning about you as an individual, as well as the larger contexts that shape your life. My approach is collaborative and deliberate, with an emphasis on compassion and respect for your innate wisdom about who you are and what you need.

healing is posssible

access real change

Talk therapies often invite people to engage in thinking and talking about the places inside that feel hurt. My primary approach—Internal Family Systems (IFS)—is a bit different. IFS opens up our access to a form of presence in each of us that is clear, confident, compassionate and courageous. This presence is intrinsic, and with it, we become able to be with our hurt places in a way that evokes real, embodied change.

healing happens at the speed of trust

I understand how vulnerable therapy can feel and it’s important to me that you feel safe. I aim to maintain awareness of how various identities I hold may show up and influence our interactions, and likewise how important identities you hold may impact your sense of comfort. My practice is anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, body inclusive, and sex positive; you are welcome here exactly as you are.

“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door. If you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”
