creating space for more of you
Many of the people I work with grew up feeling like nobody really saw them. They learned to stay safe by accommodating others, striving, and relying on perfectionism, hyper-independence, and self-criticism—protective strategies that helped them avoid the pain of being overlooked, dismissed, or not truly known.
Over time, this can leave you feeling like you’re living in only a small corner of your life. In therapy, we can begin to make space for more—more authenticity, more connection, and a fuller experience of who you are.
So how does that happen?
Traditional talk therapy often focuses on thinking and talking about the parts of us that feel hurt. My primary approach, Internal Family Systems, works a bit differently.
IFS helps you access a natural state of presence within you—one that is clear, confident, compassionate, and steady. From this place, you’re able to connect with the parts of you that are hurting and relate to them in a new way.
This is where deeper, more lasting change begins.
practice areas
chronic pain & illness
Chronic pain and complex illness can feel like they impact every dimension of life—identity, body image, mood, productivity, sleep, and relationships. In therapy, we identify the parts that are connected to physical symptoms and help them access a calm, steady sense of internal presence and support.
anxiety & chronic stress
We all have a natural capacity to anticipate threat, but sometimes that protective system becomes so loud that it’s hard to focus on much else. As our work unfolds, protective parts can begin to shift from constant threat-scanning toward a more grounded sense of internal safety and steadiness.
complex trauma
Prolonged experiences that threatened a person’s sense of safety can shape self-trust, relational trust, and the ability to feel safe in the present. We begin with protective patterns, approaching them with patience and respect, before gently moving toward the more vulnerable experiences beneath them.
perfectionism & self-criticism
The parts of us that generate perfectionism and self-criticism often hold the belief that being flawless is a way to avoid feeling worthless or powerless. With time, these protective patterns can begin to soften, opening space for a more gentle and sustainable way of relating to yourself and the world.
complicated grief
Complicated grief is a form of grief in which the healing process becomes stuck or prolonged. With IFS, we gently support the parts holding onto an important relationship or struggling to process loss, allowing grief to gradually soften and shift from something stuck to something that can be felt and held.
therapists & helping professionals
Roles with ongoing exposure to others’ trauma can create significant internal strain over time. IFS helps protect against and heal burnout by supporting access to a well-resourced internal state, allowing you to care for yourself while showing up for others with clarity and steadiness.
about my practice
I am a doctoral-level psychotherapist with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. My approach is collaborative and intentional, grounded in compassion and respect for your innate wisdom about who you are and what you need. I recognize how vulnerable therapy can feel, and I prioritize creating a space where you can feel safe, supported, and met with care. I also remain attentive to how my own identities may shape our work together, as well as how your identities may influence your sense of comfort and safety in the room.
